Sementara itu Wakil Ketua Partai Keadilan dan Pembangunan, Husain Gilik seperti dikutip kantor berita Anatolia menyatakan, "kita harus melihat Negara mana yang merasa nyaman dengan publikasi tersebut, ternyata Israel sangat nyaman dengan berita Wikileaks."

Para peneliti di Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada telah meneliti bakteri yang menggerogoti Titanic. Itu adalah bakteri pemakan karat.

Penemuan bakteri ini punya arti penting dalam upaya mengawetkan bangkai kapal ini.

"Pada 1995, saya memprediksi Titanic bakal bertahan 30 tahun lagi," kata Henrietta Mann, seperti dimuat situs LiveScience.

"Tapi, ini jauh lebih buruk. Umurnya mungkin lebih pendek, 15 atau 20 tahun."

Bangkai Titanic saat ini ditutupi rusticle yang dibentuk setidaknya oleh 27 bakteri, termasuk Halomonas titanicae.

"Banyak orang aneh yang meng-email kami mengenai UFO. Perlu dicatat bahwa di bagian yang belum dipublikasikan memang ada referensi terkait UFO," kata Assange ketika ditanya apakah ada dokumen yang dia terima mengenai kehidupan luar bumi.

VIVAnews - Carol Bartz, Kepala Eksekutif Korporat (CEO) Yahoo Inc. diganjar kompensasi US$ 47 juta atau Rp 424 miliar pada 2009. Ini adalah bayaran tahun pertama sejak dia dibajak dan mulai bekerja pada Januari 2009 guna memulihkan kinerja raksasa internet terkemuka di dunia itu.

Menurut data dari Securities and Exchange Commission, eksekutif cantik ini memperoleh gaji hampir US$ 1 juta, saham penghargaan hampir US$ 13 juta, serta penghargaan berupa opsi saham US$ 29,2 juta untuk 2009. Paket kompensasi itu termasuk biaya untuk pengacara, beramal hingga program pensiun.

Seorang juru bicara Yahoo menekankan kompensasi US$ 42 juta itu mewakili nilai pasar yang wajar atas saham penghargaan. Namun, nilai akhir mungkin bervariasi, tergantung pada target kinerja tertentu dan faktor lainnya.

Juru bicara itu juga menekankan Bartz, seperti eksekutif lainnya, menerima 75 persen dari target bonusnya tahun lalu. Bartz juga menerima US$ 1,5 juta insentif non-saham dan US$ 2,6 juta kompensasi lainnya.

Kondisi sebaliknya dialami Aristoteles Balogh, Wakil Presiden Eksekutif Yahoo. Kompensasi yang dia terima jatuh ke US$ 5,6 juta pada 2009 dari US$ 9,3 juta pada tahun sebelumnya. Balogh akan meninggalkan Yahoo pada Juni karena alasan pribadi menyusul penurunan tajam penghargaan saham dan opsi sahamnya pada 2009.

Sedangkan, kompensasi yang diterima penasehat Yahoo, Michael Callahan melompat ke US$ 3,9 juta pada 2009 dari US$ 567.000 tahun sebelumnya. Callahan menerima penghargaan saham US$ 1,4 juta dan opsi saham US$ 1,9 juta pada 2009. Dia tidak menerima penghargaan tersebut pada tahun 2008.

Pekan lalu, Yahoo melaporkan keuntungan kuartal pertama yang naik hampir tiga kali lipat. Kalangan analis menilai beberapa kemajuan yang diperoleh Yahoo Inc di bawah pimpinan Bartz.

Kendati resesi memberikan kontribusi menjatuhkan pendapatan perusahaan dotcom itu, saham Yahoo naik sebesar 38 persen pada 2009. Tahun lalu, Yahoo menjanjikan paket kompensasi bagi Bartz jika mampu mengangkat kembali harga saham perusahaan internet itu. (art)

Revaldo Meninggal Overdosis di Penjara?

JAKARTA - Aktor 30 Hari Mencari Cinta, Revaldo, dikabarkan meninggal di dalam penjara, akibat overdosis. Benarkah?

Beberapa artis mengabarkan hal tersebut lewat Twitterland, seperti, Alice Norin, Pevita Pearce, dan Wulan Guritno. Namun belum ada yang memastikan benarkah kabar tersebut, atau hanya sekadar isapan jempol, seperti yang terjadi medio November lalu.

“Innalillahi wainailaihi rojiunnn.. RIP Aldo (Revaldo). Semoga amal ibadahNya diterima di sisiNya. Amin,” tulis Alice di Twitter, Jumat (3/12/2010).

Begitu juga dengan Pevita Pearce. Dalam akun twitternya, dia menulis, “Inalilahi wainalilaihi rojiunnn...artis muda Revaldo meninggal di penjara. smoga amal ibadahnya di trima. Amin.”

Sementara Wulan Guritno masih ragu terhadap kabar ini. Jika benar, dia berharap ini adalah yang terakhir bagi penderita narkoba dan rehabilitasi adalah jalan terbaik bagi rehabilitasi.

“Inalilahi artis Revaldo meninggal OD dipenjara,RIP,kalau ini bener,yg membunuh dia hukum kita,krn druggi bkn dipenjara tp rehabilitasi!!!!!,” tulis Wulan.

Kabar seperti ini sebenarnya telah beredar sejak lama. Awal beredar melalui broadcast messengers dan kemudian menyebar di beberapa forum diskusi internet.

Seperti diketahui, aktor kelahiran 18 Juni 1982, itu kembali terjerat kasus narkoba untuk kedua kali. Akhir Juli lalu, bintang sinetron Ada Apa Dengan Cinta itu ditangkap polisi dari Polres Jakarta Barat karena kedapatan sebungkus amplop sabu seberat 0,53 gram dan satu korek api berisi ganja seberat 3,4 gram, serta satu mobil Suzuki Vitara. Lantaran ini kedua kali Aldo terjerat kasus narkoba, ancaman hukumannya bisa di atas 10 tahun.

Lelaki yang akrab disapa Aldo itu dikenakan pasal 112 ayat 1 dan 2 Undang Undang no 35 tahun 95 tentang narkotika, yang isinya menguasai, menyimpan, memiliki serta menguasai atau menyediakan narkotika.

Sebelumnya pada 10 April 2006, Aldo ditangkap karena pesta narkoba. Pada 30 Agustus 2006, majelis hakim menjatuhkan hukuman penjara dua tahun dengan denda Rp1 juta, subsider satu bulan kurungan karena Aldo terbukti tanpa hak memiliki barang haram jenis psikotropika yaitu sabu-sabu.

Revaldo kini dititipkan di Rumah Tahanan Salemba, setelah berkas kasusnya dinyatakan lengkap alias P21. Rencananya, sidang Revaldo akan digelar pekan depan.

WARSAWA, KOMPAS.com - Delapan belas orang tewas akibat membeku selama satu malam di Polandia, demikian dikatakan juru bicara Kementerian Dalam Negeri Polandia, Jumat (3/12/2010), sehingga jumlah warga tewas akibat cuaca buruk pada tiga hari terakhir menjadi 36 jiwa.

Kebekuan udara yang parah melanda sekitar 150.000 warga di kota Czestochowa, Polandia selatan tanpa pemanas pada Jumat dini hari dan sejumlah pejabat mengatakan, mereka berupaya mencari jalan keluar masalah tersebut.

Setiap kondisi cuaca buruk pada musim dingin di Polandia menyebabkan kematian puluhan warga yang kebanyakan tunawisma dan sejumlah pemabuk.

Hujan salju yang lebat serta suhu udara dibawah nol menyebabkan kekacauan lalu lintas di banyak negara Eropa utara dengan ditutupnya sejumlah bandara serta gangguan lalu lintas kereta api dan jalan raya.

Data WikiLeaks dari Jakarta Termasuk Banyak

JAKARTA - WikiLeaks ternyata memiliki banyak bocoran dokumen dari Kedutaan Besar Amerika Serikat (AS) di Jakarta. Jumlahnya mencapai lebih dari 3.000 dokumen. Jumlah tersebut bahkan hampir menyamai jumlah bocoran dokumen rahasia dari Beijing.

Seperti dilansir dari situs WikiLeaks Rabu (1/12/2010), sejumlah 98 dokumen berkategori rahasia, 1.451 dokumen dikategorikan konfidensial dan 1.510 dokumen lainnya tidak terklasifikasi.

WikiLeaks pada awal pekan ini baru saja mempublikasikan sebagian dari hampir seperempat juta dokumen rahasia yang berhasil mereka bocorkan. Pengelola situs kontroversial ini mengatakan mereka akan mempublikasikan ribuan dokumen rahasia lagi dalam beberapa hari ke depan.

Amerika Serikat (AS) telah menyampaikan mengecam keras atas tindakan WikiLeaks merilis ribuan pesan diplomatik AS. Pasalnya kebanyakan data-data tersebut berbunyi kontroversial.

Salah satu dokumen rahasia menyebutkan Raja Arab Saudi Abdullah sempat meminta kepada AS menghancurkan fasilitas nuklir milik Iran. Dalam kabel diplomatik lainnya disebutkan China akan mendukung penyetuan kembali dua Korea karena sudah "gerah" dengan sikap Korea Utara.

Pendiri WikiLeaks Julian Assange mengatakan ada ketakutan dari pihak pemerintah AS karena dokumen-dokumen rahasia mereka tersebar ke publik. Pemerintah AS ditengarai khawatir data-data yang tersebar akan membuat publik meminta pertanggungjawaban negara adidaya tersebut.

Selain pernyataan-pernyataan kontroversial itu, para diplomat AS ternyata juga terbiasa memberikan sebutan-sebutan konyol kepada para pemimpin dunia. Bukan tidak mungkin mereka juga memiliki julukan bagi Presiden Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

WikiLeaks cut off from Amazon servers

(CNN) -- WikiLeaks has been "ousted" from server space rented from the U.S.-based internet retailer Amazon.com, the website behind a massive disclosure of confidential U.S. documents announced Wednesday.

"WikiLeaks servers at Amazon ousted. Free speech the land of the free," the organization posted on its Twitter page Wednesday evening. "Fine -- our $ are now spent to employ people in Europe."

U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee, said Amazon cut off WikiLeaks after inquiries from his aides. In a statement issued by his office, the Connecticut independent called on any other company hosting WikiLeaks to follow suit.

"Wikileaks' illegal, outrageous, and reckless acts have compromised our national security and put lives at risk around the world," he said. "No responsible company -- whether American or foreign -- should assist Wikileaks in its efforts to disseminate these stolen materials."
